The challenge
Self-initiated. Rare Rabbit did not commission this — we set the brief to test a specific problem: how much of a brand system can sit inside a single poster before it stops being a poster.
The list was deliberately unreasonable. A monogram, a provenance seal, four craft icons, a stacked product-detail rail and the garment itself. Every one of those is a normal thing for a menswear label to want. Together they are a catalogue page.
And the register had to hold. Quiet luxury is mostly about restraint, so the test was whether all that information could be present without the poster starting to shout — because the moment it does, the clothes look cheaper than they are.
The approach
A split gradient separates the garment from the information instead of a rule or a panel edge. A hard division would have made two posters sharing a frame; a gradient lets the eye cross without being told to.
The rabbit crest is built as geometry rather than illustration. A monogram has to survive being a favicon and a woven label as well as a poster element, and geometric construction is what holds at those sizes.
Four craft icons, and four is the ceiling. Six would have read as a feature list; four still reads as provenance.
The product-detail rail is stacked on the right so the eye finishes on fabric and construction. The garment is what is being sold, so the last thing looked at should be the garment, not a logo.
The outcome
A poster carrying a complete brand system — monogram, seal, craft marks and product detail — that still reads as quiet rather than busy.
Delivered as a 300 DPI print poster plus Instagram feed and story cards, each re-composed for its frame rather than cropped down from the poster. Five days, in Photoshop and Illustrator.
What it delivered
- A full brand system held inside one frame
- Monogram built to survive from poster down to woven label
- Provenance conveyed in four marks, not a feature list
- Print, feed and story each composed for their own crop
